Cartoon Network Studios Academy

Cartoon Network launched CNS Academy in February 2019, a Cartoon Network 12-week fellowship for up and coming talent specializing in storyboarding. Over 2,000 people applied and I was selected among a group of six to be a part of the pilot program. Throughout the fellowship, I was directly mentored by Randy Myers and received a great amount of knowledge and advice from a huge number of creative talent from the studio. The Academy Trainees worked on assignments involving Cartoon Network properties and the program ended with a large final pitch to all of the studio’s show creators/runners, producers, and directors.

From Deadline

After receiving more than 2,000 submissions, Cartoon Network Studios has selected six artists for its inaugural Storyboard Artist Training Program, a paid educational course aimed to expand career opportunities for up-and-coming creative talent. The finalists will embark on a 12-week journey where they will work alongside Cartoon Network employees to gain firsthand television storyboarding experiences. Staffed on rotating in-house production crews, participants will receive direct mentorship and training in a hands-on environment to refine their writing and storyboarding techniques. Guest instructors include Matt Burnett and Ben Levin (Craig of the Creek), Owen Dennis (Infinity Train), Julia Pott (Summer Camp Island), JG Quintel (Close Enough), and more.
